Today we worked mainly on CAD training. We started with a session using Eagle Lite, the circuit and board design system that everyone uses.

We also started learning Autodesk Inventor, the CAD system we’ll be using for the mechanic aspects of the project.

A nice thing about Inventor, like Solidworks, is that it lets you constrain your parts, and then explore their possible motions. This will let us put together a basic design, then modify the dimensions of various components until we arrive at a workable design.
