Now that we’ve been able to walk, we’re working as fast as we can to build the final suit. We’ve only got about 11 weeks left, so time is gonna be tight!
Ed, Ian, and Thelonious assembled the second frame that will be used to support the prototype legs.
Connor and Ed worked on the sensor rig that will be used to control the arms:
The rig has four force sensitive resistors like the one above that will allow the software to determine how to actuate the elbow up or down, and the shoulder up and down.
Cole and Tony worked on getting multiple Arduinos talking to each other. The design we’re working toward will have 5 separate Arduino-based boards: 4 custom boards that do low level control of the limbs, and a communications manager, an Arduino Uno that gathers sensor data from the custom boards and sends that data to a laptop running a diagnostic console.
To get the basic software working we tested with three boards: two acting as custom boards, and one acting as the communications manager.
