The big highlight today was that we were able to do a convincing and comfortable one legged walking motion! That’s confirmation that our sensing and control is getting to the point where full two-legged walking seems within reach.
We therefore got immediately to work on building out the left leg. Cole and Sammy built the four sensor cables we need for the left leg, two for the upper leg, and two for the lower:
and Cole build the bread board version of the control board for the left leg:
Here’s the complete leg prototype ready for testing next week:
Sammy, Thelonious, and Dr. P started work on a second support frame:
The frame we have now will be used to support the final suit, but we need a second one to support the prototype legs, both in the garage and at Maker Faire.
Gabriel worked on refining the story portion of the Kickstarter campaign. That’s in pretty good shape now. Before we can go live we still need to a little more tweaking to the backer gifts. We also need to determine if we qualify as a non-profit, meaning we wouldn’t have to pay income taxes on the Kickstarter funds. We are shooting to go live in the next week to 10 days, so hopefully we can figure all that out before then.
Finally, Joseph began work on the Inventor CAD model for the final version of the suit.
