Here’s a draft of the video that we’ll be putting up on Kickstarter to raise funds for the project. It includes footage of the latest walking test:
We had no idea how hard walking was going to be, and it is proving to be moderately difficult. The latest test pointed out several things to address: for the slide potentiometer to work well the wearer needs to be firmly attached to the armature (the elastic we’re using now allows for too much play), and we need to add feet to the suit to fully assess our ability to walk.
Connor created a first version of a bracket to connect the slide potentiometer to the wearer:
He and Ian then started work on a second version that will more tightly couple the wearer to the suit:
Meanwhile Sammy and Ian designed and built a bracket to attach the slide potentiometers to the armature:
Joseph and Zack (today’s special guest) worked on an Inventor model for the feet:
and once the model was done Zack and Cole started in on fabrication:
The feet are quite large to help with balance, much like the feet on wind up walking toys:
